Fars Exports Exceed 24,000 Tons

TEHRAN Nov. 7 (Mehr News Agency) – During the past seven months of the current Iranian year (ending March 20,2004), $22,850 worth of various commodities were exported from Fars Province, general director of the provincial customs office announced here Friday.

The volume reached 24,333 tons in weight, Mohammad Sadeq Fallah added.

 

Tomato pastes, hand woven carpets, food products, metallic structures, industrial products, salambor, ceramics, and licorice are reported to be the chief things exported to 65 different countries around the world, he said.

 

“Non-oil commodities were mainly exported to Germany, Iraq, Russia, Italy, UAE, Romania, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, and Pars Special Energy Zone.”

 

A 5,000-dollar increase occurred in tomato paste exports while carpet industry experienced some $1300 decrease. Therefore, the average export amount corroborated a 32.4 percent decrease, Fallah stated.

 

The total export volume from Fars will attain $45 million up to the end of this year, he predicted.
